4 Things To Learn From Grand Children

For the past week I’ve had the exciting opportunity to spend time with my grand children.

I don’t get to see them often and being with them helps me see things with a different view.
Each time I see them they’ve grown. Each time I have them I learn more.

My youngest are twins who are 4 years old. They are so full of energy. So intelligent, so full of common knowledge.

I’m learning so much right now like patience! I can’t do much of anything in a hurry! That includes No microwave foods, no fast foods! This means I have too make the time too cook a full meal.

You are probably wondering why I don’t give them fast quick foods….personally I feel it’s unhealthy for them. So I don’t do many of the fast food chains. Of course I’ve taken them for ice cream or yogurt but other than that…well I just cook.  They love it!

Another thing I’ve learned is improved listening skills. They each have so much to say and if I miss something or don’t realize what they are saying then I fail to understand their needs and requirements. Like one of them was doing some addition and the other was too but got one incorrect. Had I not been paying attention I would have missed the opportunity to ensure they got the right answer for future adding activities.  They like to tell me little short stories so even when I’m busy I stop and see what they have to say. One if the twins likes to sing, so occasionally she’ll just start singing and my listening skills are in effect to make sure she is not singing inappropriate lyrics.

Then there is time management. Now I get up earlier, Go to bed earlier, and well, I pretty much take note of my schedule more, because I have to make sure they get their rest and I get mine.

Lastly but not finally I realize I’ve got to start going to the gym! These little ones really wear me out quickly. They are like the energizer bunny, they seem to have never ending energy. I’ve been able to keep up but we all fall asleep as soon as we get home!

So as you can see there is a lot to learn from grandkids. Especially when you don’t get a chance to be around them much!

Hope you all enjoyed this post.
